About this category
This award recognises a technology, whether a machine, a sensor, software, robotics or data service, that is making a measurable difference on working farms. It is open to the businesses that make it and the farms that use it well. Judges look for results on farms, not promises.

Additional criteria
Entries should include a short account of the farm or business, supporting figures such as yields, herd or flock performance, costs or margins where relevant, and, where possible, comments from customers, buyers, advisers or neighbours. Figures can be given as ranges or percentages and nothing in an entry is shared beyond the judging panel. Judges consider the size, type and location of the farm, so a small upland holding competes on equal terms with a large lowland estate.
