About this category
This award recognises a farm that has built a successful new enterprise alongside farming, such as tourism, events, processing, energy, retail or letting. Judges look for the business case, the results and how it supports the farm.
Eligibility
Open to UK farms that have launched a diversified enterprise that has traded for at least one year.

Additional criteria
Entries should include a short account of the farm or business, supporting figures such as yields, herd or flock performance, costs or margins where relevant, and, where possible, comments from customers, buyers, advisers or neighbours. Figures can be given as ranges or percentages and nothing in an entry is shared beyond the judging panel. Judges consider the size, type and location of the farm, so a small upland holding competes on equal terms with a large lowland estate.
